Ella Eiden

Ella (nee Welch) Eiden passed away peacefully and at prayer with her daughter by her side on May 17, 2017, at the age of 95. Ella is remembered as a devoted and loving wife; a strong and inspiring mother; a nurturing and giving grandmother; and a peace-loving and gracious great-grandmother. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Martin N. Eiden, Jr. and her grandson Andrew Lathrop. Mother of Martin (Carolyn) Eiden, III, Peter (Rosemary) Eiden, and Lesley (Steve) Lathrop. Grandmother of Martin, Benjamin, Scott and Jessica. Great-grandmother of Jessika, Jacob, Noble, Katelyn, Austin, Eleanor and Allison. Further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.


Ella was born in Van Wort City, Ohio, on June 17, 1921. She resided with her husband in Brooklyn, NY, Detroit, MI and Milwaukee, WI. She lived in Menomonee Falls, WI, for over 35 years and was an active member of Good Shepard Catholic Church. She lived in Menasha, WI, over 20 years and was active at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Visitation will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 222 E. Fremont St., Appleton, WI 54915, on Saturday, May 27, 2017, at 10:00 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers, Ella asked for contributions to Sacred Heart Catholic Church Youth Group or charity of choice.
