Obituary for Harvey C. Mincy

Harvey Mincy, 85 of Brownsville, died Thursday, Nov 9, 2017 at the Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac. He was born in Ripon on Aug 19, 1932, the son of Riley Mincy and Elsie (Wichman) Mincy. He married Avonne Anita Leupold on May 24, 1958. Harvey was known for never being without a job. At a young age, he helped contribute to the household by delivering newspapers and milk as well as setting bowling pins at the Ripon Pin Bowl. After more than 20 years of service, he retired from the Ripon Post Office in 1992. He previously worked for more than 20 years at Ripon Foods and ended as their head baker.

He attended the Oakfield United Methodist Church faithfully. Harvey was a world traveler, avid gardener, pie maker, fisherman, card player, and dancer. For 37 years, Harvey shared his life with Joyce Kindschuh, his significant other.

He is survived by his four children: Wendell Mincy of Van Buren, MO; Merrilyn (Daniel) DiVenanzo of Eustis, FL, Mark Mincy of Van Buren, MO, and Michael (Seana) Mincy of Bon Aqua, TN; and four grandchildren; Muriel DiVenanzo of Eustis, FL, Andrew DiVenanzo of San Diego, CA, Kilah Mincy of Bon Aqua, TN, and Brendan Mincy of Bon Aqua, TN. His brothers and sisters are: Riley Mincy, Orlee Roebke, John Mincy, Donna Goelz, Eugene Mincy and Carolyn Mincy. Harvey is also survived by Joyce Kindschuh and her children: Jeff Kindschuh, Patti Cobb, Curt Kindschuh and Steve Kindschuh, as well as her five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Avonne Mincy (1978) and sister, Eunice Gneiser,

Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 12, 2017 at Oakfield United Methodist Church at 1:30 p.m. Visitation will start at 12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice Home of Hope, Oakfield United Methodist Church or your memorial of choice.

Harvey Mincy served in a steady way, quietly and with no dramatics.
