Dennis L. Voigt, 62, our wonderful son, brother, husband, stepfather has passed on peacefully into God’s arms on Wednesday, May 12, 2021. Dennis was born on March 7, 1959 in Appleton, to Harold and Donna (Semrow) Voigt. He graduated from Appleton West High School and the first part of his career was built as an amazing service and appliance technician. Dennis spent the second part of his career building homes with Boardwalk Builders in Appleton.
Dennis was an accomplished artesian, designer and builder making beautiful pieces of art by hand for family and friends. Dennis has been called “MacGyver” by many as he could do anything, fix anything and take two seemingly disconnected objects and make into a work of art.
Dennis was an avid fisherman and had a love for collecting fishing lures. He especially loved an annual trip with a core group of friends and family members to Canada each year.
Dennis was truly an artist and was accepted into the Trout Museum (SECURA Arts Exhibition) over multiple years with a special piece being purchased for the Trout Museum collection. This was one of the many highlights of his artesian career.
Dennis’ integrity was impeccable and would be described by close friends and family members as one of the most kind-hearted, genuine and sweet souls. His clever and unique wit will be remembered by all. Dennis also had a strong love for his cats.
Dennis is survived by his wife Jennifer of Appleton, parents Harold and Donna Voigt of Largo, FL, brother Todd and Todd’s wife Debbie of Palm Harbor, FL, stepdaughters Bridget of Atlanta, GA and Kathleen of Appleton, and many nieces and nephews.
Dennis was preceded in death by his brother Brian Voigt and his aunt Carol Willenkamp.
A special thank you for Dennis’ dear friends and co-workers for sharing many special memories throughout his life. An immense thank you to Dennis’ hospice nurses for their great care and love.
A celebration of life for Dennis will be held on Saturday, June 12, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Appleton Yacht Club, 1200 S. Lutz Drive, Appleton. Family and friends are welcome to visit and celebrate Dennis’ accomplishments, artistry and amazing spirit.
