Eric D. Babcock

Eric "Rick" "Shim" Donald Babcock lost his battle with Glioblastoma, brain cancer, on January 9. 2021. He was born to Esther (Meyers) and Jack Babcock; and Donald Brown on November 29, 1952 in New London, WI. On March 3, 1973 he married his high school sweetheart, Susan Blank. He worked for 46 years at Curwood in New London before retiring in 2018.
Rick loved watching the Packers, fishing, cars, camping, pontooning and vacationing with his family. Family was everything to him. He will greatly be missed.
Rick is survived by his wife, Susan, Dale, WI. Their two daughters: Melissa (Brian) Kempen, Appleton; and Jennifer (Kevin) Meyer, Dale. Grandchildren: Sam (fiancé Jodi Liebergen) Spruce, Appleton; Trevor Spruce, Appleton; Ben and Olivia Meyer, Dale. Great-Granddaughter: Scarlett Spruce. Father: Jack Babcock, New London. Siblings: Teresa (Rich) Lassen, Tammy (Lee) McFaul, Tracy Scrivens, Jerry Babcock, Marcy Brown, and Jill Brown. Aunt: Donna Buelow. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews, along with Susan’s family.
Rick is preceded in death by Esther and Donald. Grandparents: Martha Roloff and Vivian and William Babcock. Brother-in-law: Tony Scrivens.
Due to the current circumstances, there will be no funeral at this time. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later time.
