Jim DeGoey, lifelong resident of Kaukauna, age 96, passed away from natural causes on January 22, 2021 at Primrose of Appleton, WI. He was born on April 13, 1924 in Kaukauna to the late John and Anna (Weiss) DeGoey. He married the late Delores Chadek on July 24, 1948 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Menasha. He is survived by 2 sons, James Jr. (Barbara) DeGoey, Milwaukee, WI and Paul (Renee) DeGoey, Eagle Lake, MN and 1 daughter Ann (Dan) Newhouse, Plover, WI, 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Delores, his daughter Susan (Jerome) Lineberger and his 6 brothers and sisters and his special friend, Peg Schmidt.
Right after graduation from Kaukauna High School, Jim joined the US Army and served in WWII in the Philippines from 1943-1946 where he earned the bronze star. After leaving the army he worked apprenticing with Joseph Birkenmeyer for 4 years in the trade of Painting and Decorating then finishing his work career at Thilmany Paper Mill.
Jim had many talents such as musician, artist, furniture maker, sign painter. He also loved golfing, bowling and a good joke which he had a million to tell.

Jim did not like a lot of fuss so at this time there will be no service but the family will have a private service at a later date with friends and family. Memorials in his honor can be sent to Mobility 4 Vets Wheelchair Shop Inc., 270 Grand Seasons Drive, Waupaca, WI 54981.
