Kirsten Roug

October 14, 1935 — May 9, 2015

Kirsten Roug, age 79 passed away peacefully at her home in Sherwood, Wisconsin with family by her side on Saturday, May 9, 2015. She was born in the town of Thisted, Denmark on October 14, 1935, the daughter of the late Paul Thomas and Ester (Moller) Jensen.

On October 16, 1954 she married John Roug in Copenhagen, Denmark. They made the journey together to the United States and settled in Ixonia, Wisconsin in 1955 where they owned and operated Chapel Hill Dairy Farm. She taught dance and was active with the Watertown, Wisconsin theatre and dance community. She furthered her business career as a partner in Sun Steel Corporation in 1974 and retired 2001.

Kirsten is survived by two sons, Peter (Jan) Roug, Menasha, Wisconsin and Tony (Terri) Roug, Glen Ellyn, Illinois; Two grandsons, Jonathan and Kristopher Roug and Two granddaughters, Elise and Karin Roug; Three great grandchildren, Colette, Nevaeh, and Noah. She is further survived by her brother Leif and sister-in-law Birthe Moller Jensen, Denmark; and nieces, Susanne, Lotte, Rikke, Denmark and many great nieces and nephews; and a close second Mom to Donnelle Bart.

Kirsten is preceded in death by her parents and husband John. Her ashes will be buried with John at Bethel Cemetery in Ixonia, Wisconsin.

A special thanks goes to her friend Annette Nett; The Thedacare Hospice Nurses, (especially Ida) for their kindness and compassionate care.

Kirsten will be deeply missed.
