Michael Anthony Venardi

July 10, 1941 — July 11, 2021

Michael Anthony Venardi died at his home on July 11, 2021, in Oshkosh, Wisconsin surrounded by his family. Michael was born on July 10, 1941, to Michael Venardi and Martha Zielinski Venardi. He graduated from St. Mary's College in Winona, Minnesota with a degree in history. He would go on to have a successful career in sales and management in the field of food-grade
chemical distribution. He married his true love Lois in 1964 and began to start their family. He enjoyed gardening, golf, was a lover of dogs, and participated in sports whether it be watching or playing, however, his true passion was cooking. He was a
die-hard Green Bay Packers and Nebraska Cornhuskers fan.

Michael retired with his wife Lois in 1997 and moved to the North Carolina mountains in the winter and would go to Oshkosh, Wisconsin, and live on the lakeside in the summer. He was a kind and generous man and a good listener to all, when asked for
advice he always provided sound guidance and compassion. He will be deeply missed by all those whose lives he touched. We will miss him dearly, but will always have wonderful memories of him. Michael lives on through his loving wife of 56 years, Lois, his sister Kathleen Placencia and her husband Raymond, his son Matthew, his son Michael and his wife Kimberly and their children Michael and Katelin, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Michael was a loving husband and father who always had time for his family. He was always guided by his Roman Catholic values and the belief that “Family Comes First”. We will miss Michael but will always remember our beloved Patriarch.

Thank you to all the good neighbors on Hickory Lane, your support, kindness, and friendship kept us from despair. Pete and Linda Kriz you made it possible to feel joy. A special Thanks to Jim Erdman, your hug on the day Mike died got me through the rest of the day. Pat and Stacey, your food and care warmed our hearts. Andy and Crystal, your understanding and love were a delight and made us smile. To our loving family, Mike and Matt, Kathy and Ray, Kim, Mikey and Katie, “you're the best.” To Izaiah, you rescued Mike and I not once but twice; you are a kind and exceptional young man. To ThedaCare Hospice, your empathy and expertise made the journey less devastating.

My wish for you all to quote an Irish blessing, “May the road rise up to meet you, may the wind be always at your back, may the sun shine warm upon your face, the rain fall on your fields and until we meet again may God hold you in the palm of his hands.”
