Allan "Al" Morse

March 11, 1952 — November 22, 2024

Allan “Al” Morse, 72, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family, on November 22, 2024.

Al was born to Margaret and Merrill Morse in 1952, but his life really began when he met his beautiful wife, Diane. During their 41 years of marriage, they raised two daughters, Amanda and Krista, of whom he was immensely proud.

Following high school, Al worked a couple of local mill jobs before joining Kimberly Clark, where he spent his next 34 years. It was here that he met Diane and many good friends. In his younger years, Al enjoyed deer and duck hunting with his buddies. Those hunts and the nights after made for many good stories over the years. He was also a lover of music. Seeing bands perform live was always a highlight for him, but music filled the room at every family or friend gathering as well. It was no secret that Al was the air guitar king! If you knew Al, we’re sure there are at least a few songs that will bring you memories of him over the years.

Al was a kind soul, always inquisitive and quick-witted, and will also be remembered for his loyalty, affection, and resiliency. After being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer five years ago and enduring complications from his surgery, he faced each new set of health challenges with grace. It brought life to a slower pace for him, but he really did always enjoy the simple things in life. He loved reading, taking strolls in nature, and especially loved casting out a line at the lake.

But above all, Al loved his family. His and Diane’s love inspired all who met them, whether they knew them for 40 minutes or 40 years. Their love set the bar high for his daughters, and Al was forever grateful for the sons-in-law he gained and respected. His title of dad was one of his favorites; he was always encouraging, bringing a laugh, and sharing in their joy. He never could get quite enough time with his girls, especially in recent years. Al also adored his six young grandchildren, and the feeling was mutual. His playful spirit will be so missed by us all.

Al is survived by his loving wife Diane; his cherished daughters Amanda (Phil) Kordus and Krista (Greg) Berg; and six beautiful grandchildren: Clara, Everett, Cullen, Skyler, Bridger, and Camden. He is also survived by his brother Tom (Janice) Morse; sister-in-laws Debbie (Pete) Ansems and Sharon (Don) Dedering; brother-in-laws Jack (Sue) Mischler, Tom (Sandy) Mischler, Mark (Kathy) Mischler, and John Driessen; and his step mother-in-law Dolly Mischler; along with many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Margaret and Merrill Morse; his mother-in-law and stepfather-in-law, Margaret and Richard Cox; his father-in-law, John Mischler; and his sister-in-law, Sandy Driessen.

The family would like to extend our sincere thanks to the many wonderful healthcare professionals at Ascension St. Elizabeth’s for providing such compassionate care.

A celebration of life will be planned for Al at a future date.
