Anthony Joseph Knowles Sr.

January 5, 1961 — January 5, 2024

Poynette

Anthony “Tony” Knowles of Poynette, Wisconsin, born January 5th, 1961, made his final exit from this earth January 5th, 2024, on his 63rd birthday.

Tony, our Dad, always knew he wasn’t here for a long time, but he also knew he was here for a good time. In following that thought, our Dad made a point to fill so many lives with happy memories. From his time working at Royster Clark, Waunakee School District, Owl’s Nest, and Kwik Trip, he was a man who made friends anywhere he went. Once you were a friend of his, you were always a friend of his.

We were blessed with his cooking, particularly his big breakfast scrambles. His love of music was contagious and playing his guitar and singing were some of his favorite things to do.  We will miss his inappropriate humor that often had us rolling our eyes.  And if his humor and wit didn’t make him stand out in the crowd, you could always find him by his Hawaiian shirts and year-round shorts. Out of all the titles that he held in life, he was most proud of Dad and Grandpa. He loved his family fiercely and was so very proud of them all.

He will be lovingly remembered by his children: Regina Knowles, of Poynette, Wisconsin, AJ Knowles, of Evergreen, Colorado, and Serena (Tim) Robson, of Portage, Wisconsin, his grandchildren, Izabelle Schave and Oliver Robson, his parents, Ute Knowles and Glenn Bryan, his niece Victoria Googin, and countless other family and friends. He was greeted at the gates by his father Bill Knowles, Duane Stine, and his nieces Alicia and Brianna Conklin.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2024, starting at 2:00 p.m. at the Head Inn Bar & Grill in Poynette, Wisconsin.  We plan to party in his honor, but as dad said, “not too hard as we should be a little sad”.

In true fashion, our dad’s last words were “I’m not dead yet.  Come back in 30 minutes!” and he took his last breath to The Ramones song “I wanna be sedated”

A huge thanks to Thedacare for their compassionate assistance during our Dad’s final days.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations in Tony’s name to be made to the Harbor Recovery Center in Portage, Wisconsin.
