Ashley Kathryn Cordy (Ehlers), age 40, of Kaukauna (Stockbridge), passed away unexpectedly, surrounded by those closest to her, on April 14, 2024, at Appleton Medical Center, after her progressive fight with influenza & pneumonia. Ashley was born July 16, 1983, to Cathie and Michael Ehlers while living in Tipton, Iowa. At the young age of 7, her parents and older brother, Josh, packed up and moved to Wisconsin for their father’s new job. Ashley and Josh were typical siblings growing up, always there for each other. They enjoyed playing frisbee in the yard and rollerblading around the neighborhood together. Ashley was the little sister that drove her brother crazy, watching Grease on repeat hundreds of times. And Josh was the older brother that was there to help guide her into adulthood, which may have involved losing her during Halloween on State Street when she was 21, but he found her as a big brother should. Throughout Ashley’s life they remained close and survived a lot of tough times together.
Ashley always enjoyed hanging out with her friends, which is how she met, Justin Cordy, when they were just 19 years old. Ashley and Justin dated, fell in love and were engaged in 2006. They had a very special relationship, that some would never fully understand, but those closest to them just smile and laugh, because it was just who they were. The jokes, digs and sarcasm between them was how they argued, laughed, and showed genuine unconditional love for each other, almost like a secret code, it was just one of the things made their entire life together unique and special. Within a few short years together, Ashley and Justin were blessed with their first child, a beautiful daughter, Summer Lynn. And seven years later they added a second blessing to their family, an amazing son, Dominic Michael.
Ashley lived a simple life and that was all she ever needed with Justin and their kids. She was always there for them and would spend her time coloring, gossiping and watching scary movies with Summer or putting her skills to the test, in kitchen with Dominic, making cookies, muffins and pancakes. However, there was no doubt, that she was always happiest, spending time with her family either working together or relaxing, at their property in Stockbridge. Ashley found endless joy in building their dream together and watching the sunset over the lake, from the swing in her own little oasis that Justin & Josh built for her. She cherished every moment with those she loved most.
Ashley enjoyed so many things in life, besides her coffee and Christmas. She loved doing crafts, crocheting, fishing, having cookouts with friends or just socializing around a fire. Ashley loved animals as well, she never wanted to turn an animal away and when she and the kids found a new pet, it was almost guaranteed that Justin would cave in and bring it home for them. She was a kind, selfless woman always doing things for others and never wanted to be a burden on anyone. That made her notorious for saying, “I’m Sorry” when she never really needed to apologize. Ashley was always ready to experience or learn something new and when she did, there was only one way for her to respond, but when you heard her say, “Well, isn’t that just Fancy”, you knew she liked whatever it was. Her smile and laugh would light up a room and her infectious excitement would bring joy to everyone around her.
Ashley will always be remembered as a humble, free spirit that showered everyone around her with love, affection and positivity. She was a devoted, loving wife, mother, sister, and friend. Ashley’s love for her family and friends was exceptional and her positivity, tolerance and selflessness, was certainly limitless. Ashley will be greatly missed, but never forgotten. Her love and compassion will live on through each of us, that were blessed enough to have known her. While her smile and positive attitude guide us through the rest of our own journeys. When we watch the sun set, or look to the stars in sky, she will be there for all of us as she always has been before. Ashley was preceded in death by her Father, Michael Ehlers; Mother, Cathie Ehlers; and both her maternal and paternal grandparents. Ashley is survived by her Spouse, Justin Cordy; Daughter, Summer Cordy; Son, Dominic Cordy; Brother, Josh(Jennifer) Ehlers; Close Friends she considered family.
A Celebration of Ashley’s Life will be held at her happiest place on Earth, the family’s property in Stockbridge, WI, with the date to be announced. Ashley’s family would like to welcome all family and friends to share their special memories and celebrate this beautiful woman’s life together through her Facebook page until a date is chosen for the celebration of life.
