Bernadean A. Engeleiter, 86, of Appleton, WI, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2023 after a three year battle with dementia. She was born on April 28, 1937, in Mayville, WI, to Elmore and Ada Schulze.
Bernie was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She cherished her 67-year marriage to her husband, Richard Engeleiter. Together, they enjoyed traveling and creating lasting memories. In her spare time, Bernie found joy in crafting and quilting.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Engeleiter; her daughters, Cathy Watson (Mike) of Appleton, Gail Huberty (David) of Waupaca, and special daughter Rosie Stindl (Manfred) of Germany; her grandchildren, Dawn Watson of Appleton, Nicole Watson (Special friend Matt Ungerman) of Milwaukee, Heather Biszak (Mike) of Omaha, and Phillip Huberty of Appleton; and her special granddaughter Tanja Stindl of Germany. Bernie was preceded in death by her parents, Elmore and Ada Schulze.
Bernie attended West Bend High School and later worked in the office for Amity/Rolfs Leather Products in West Bend.
She worshipped at Bethany Lutheran (WELS) Church in Appleton, WI.
A visitation will be held from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, followed by a service at 3:00 pm on Friday, September 15, 2023, at Appleton Highland Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Bethany Lutheran (WELS) Church Building Fund at 530 W Parkway Blvd, Appleton, WI 54911.
Bernie will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Her legacy of love and creativity will live on in their hearts forever.
