Charles Bernard Erke of Fond du Lac, WI died on July 2025 of a long battle with kidney failure at Cherry Meadows in Appleton, WI. He was married to his wife Susan Lee Korpal, on April 22nd 1961. They spent 64 wonderful years together.
He was born in Fond du Lac, WI- May 15th, 1942 the son of Bernard and Beulah Erke. He grew up in Milwaukee a member of the catholic church and served as an alter boy. He attended school at Juneau High, where he played on the football team as a running back for the Pioneers. He studied at Ferris State University in Michigan, where he earned many certifications.
He worked the majority of his career with airplanes and semi’s as a mechanic and truck driver. He followed his career and lived in various locations throughout the country. Chuck drove school bus for the handicap and tour buses for the seniors in his retirement. He was a loving husband and father to all of his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Susan Lee (Korpal) Erke, his children Ronald (Cynthia) Erke, Robert (Lynn Bauer) Erke, Randal (Carrie Dalbke) Erke, Tessie Cooper, Tracy (Joseph) Joo, Christian (Michelle Shultis) Erke, and grandchildren Lauren and Brandon Erke, Jeremy Erke, Toby and Zachary Cooper, Storme (Brandon) Smith, Chaz and Lacey Erke, Sabrina (Jared) Cyrus, Kevin (Stephany) Jones, Coleman (Amy) Jones and Carson Erke. He is also survived by many great grandchildren, brother and sister in laws and nieces and nephews.
His wishes were to be cremated and have a private celebration of life to be held with close family. He will be laid to rest in a private ceremony of interment with his parents at Ledgeview Memorial Park.
