Dr. Colleen Sargent-Day, aged 64 of Appleton, Wisconsin, unexpectedly passed away on February 16, 2024.

Colleen was born to Timothy and Jean in Wausau, Wisconsin. After Colleen graduated from Newman High School in 1978, she went on to earn her bachelor's degree in Finance and Economics. After graduation, she joined Apostolic Volunteers and was assigned to work in Montana. This is where she met and fell in love with her husband John. Colleen and John were married in 1983 in Montana. They decided to move to Wisconsin to start a family and had two children: Erin and Meghan. Colleen was a life-long learner and earned a Masters of Business Administration in Church Administration, Masters in Theology and was most proud of her Doctorate in Ministry.

Colleen was a full-time mother when her daughters were young. It was important to her that she engaged them in educational spaces on a daily basis. Colleen then spent the rest of her life in the Catholic Church. She was the Minister of Administration for St. Patrick's Parish in Menasha, Wisconsin, St. Nicholas Parish in Freedom, Wisconsin, St. Bernard Parish in Appleton, Wisconsin and finally a Financial Administrator at Prince of Peace Lutheran in Appleton, Wisconsin.

Colleen was a skilled at sewing and knitting. She enjoyed painting, swimming (especially with her friends at the YMCA) and singing in the various church choirs and even playing bass guitar. In the spring she would love to plant flowers and vegetables to enjoy during the summer where you could easily catch her outside with a book in hand. She had an affinity for penguins and anything that came in the color green. She also liked canning with friends and baking bread.

Colleen is preceded in death by her father Timothy, brother Patrick and step-father Lyle Schepp. She is survived and will be dearly missed by her husband John Day and two daughters Erin and Meghan Day. She will also be missed by her mother, Jean Schepp, sisters Bridget Nyarko and Shannon Hall, brothers Sean Sargent and Tim J. Sargent, her faith community, friends from the YMCA and from the neighborhood. She touched the hearts of so many people.

A funeral Mass for Colleen will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at St. Patrick's Parish, 324 Nicolet Blvd with Fr. Dennis Ryan officiating.
