Darrel "Butch" Alix

Darrel “Butch” Alix, age 74, of Appleton, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, October 3, 2017. Darrel was the youngest son of the late Arvid "Gene" and Irma (Hakes) Alix. On April 2, 1965, he married the love of his life, Sandra Baer, and together they raised five children. Darrel enjoyed spending time with his family and friends; playing cards and cribbage; and going to casinos.
Darrel is survived by his loving wife, Sandra; his children, Doreen Alix-Verkuilen (Larry Verkuilen), Darlene (Glen) Livermore, Dean Alix, Duane Alix (Maly Melby), Dave (Arann) Alix; six grandchildren, Casey Klepps, Kaley Klepps, Destiny Livermore, Alicia Alix, Brielle Alix, Kori Alix; and ten great-grandchildren.
Darrel is further survived by one brother, Merle (Sally) Alix; one sister, Sue (Don) Crank; a sister-in-law, Kathy Alix; and a brother-in-law, Ray Guthman.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Arvid Alix; and one sister, Yvonne Guthman.
As Darrel wished, a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2017 from 1pm to 4pm at Cimarron Bar & Grill in Menasha.
