Debora Kay Sweetack, age 75, passed away at the hospital on June 2, 2026.She was born on September 26, 1950. Debora spent her life cultivating a deep love for her family and community in the Fox Valley area. She was an amazing cook who took pride in perfecting every recipe on the planet, using her culinary talents as just one of the many ways she nurtured those around her. Debora wanted nothing more than to feed the world. She fiercely believed in the philosophy of living simply so that others could simply live, drawing deep lifelong inspiration from the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi and Mother Teresa. Her immense generosity was reflected in her quiet support of causes dedicated to human rights, medical care, and animal welfare, including Doctors Without Borders, St. Jude’s Children's Research Hospital, the Shriners, the Wildlife Conservation Society, Helen Keller International, the ACLU, and the Disabled American Veterans (DAV).
She was preceded in death by her beloved sons, Brian James Sweetack and Michael James Sweetack. Debora’s memory will be cherished and kept alive by her devoted husband, Stanley Sweetack; her children, Andrew, Bree, and Jimmy; her cherished grandchildren, Emma, Allen, Stella, Jaylynn, and Brielle; and the countless lives she touched through her quiet grace and boundless charity.
In accordance with her wishes, there will be no formal service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Debora’s memory to any of the charitable organizations she supported so faithfully throughout her life.
