Age 63, died unexpectedly Friday, April 3rd at Meadowbrook Nursing Home. Don was born May 27th, 1962 in Appleton, son of the late Peter and Edna (Mericle) Derkes. Don enjoyed bowling, darts, watching movies & hanging out with his 2 children. He also loved the Green Bay Packers and making people laugh!! He was always willing to lend a hand for family and friends. He was always the one to man the grill at our cookouts.
He is survived by his two children: Douglas Derkes (Menasha) and Diamond Derkes(Menasha); 3 sisters and a brother: Cheryl Reh (Las Vegas), Thomas Derkes (Menasha), Diane Derkes (Neenah) and Tina Derkes (Neenah); 2 nephews and 4 nieces: Kevin Reh (Las Vegas). Nicholas (Maria) Reh (Las Vegas), Amy Reh (Las Vegas), Bonita (Marcus) Otto (Neenah), Talia Puente and Fiancé Cory Schultz (Las Vegas) and Emma Derkes (Neenah); 3 great nieces: Jaylynn Gomez (Las Vegas), Olivia Reh (Las Vegas) and Juliana Reh (Las Vegas) and 1 aunt and uncle: Mary VandeBurgt (Brillion) and Paul Senner (Neenah) as well as other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by aunts and uncles: Donna (Gordon) Remter, Martin VandeBurgt, Gilbert Mericle, Beverly Klinker and Darlene Senner, and one cousin: Mark VandeBurgt.
He also wants to let Mike Kohanski know he always felt like his Big Brother.
A Celebration of Life for Don will be held in July.
