Ellen Schweitzer

September 29, 1960 — October 7, 2022

Kaukauna

Ellen Schweitzer, age 62 of Kaukauna, WI, received her purple tipped angel wings on the morning of Friday, October 7th, 2022, in the comfort of her home surrounded by loved ones and her overabundance of pillows. As strong and stubborn as she may have been, she lost the battle with pancreatic cancer.

Ellen was born on September 29th, 1960 in New London, Connecticut to the late Marjorie and Wilfred Schweitzer. She was the youngest of six siblings: Kathleen Schweitzer, Richard Schweitzer, Daniel Schweitzer, Ann Haller, and Joan Swanson.

Ellen is preceded by daughters Katrina Schoenrock, Danielle Schweitzer, and Kimberly Mathias, as well as a son, James Mathias. She was the proud grandma(G-Ma) of Lillyana Torres, Mikayla Scolastico, and Dexter Trumbauer.

Ellen touched numerous lives with her kind and caring heart. She would do anything for anyone, and always had the most wonderful way of listening and making you feel better with her words of encouragement, acceptance, comfort, and support. Her antics, demeanor, and “blond moments” produced many knee-slapping laughs. She was famous for her homemade meals, and sweet treats, that could feed a small army or all of Santa’s elves. She most adored spending time with her friends and family, doing activities including playing board games, mini golfing, exploring nature, gardening, family themed TV show/movie nights, crafting, and last, but definitely not least…shopping!

A few of her favorite things were: coffee (evidence left on ALL white shirts), candy (always a large assorted baggie in her Mary Poppins purse), anything purple (or green-depending on the year), tie-dye (#hippielife), pigs (any size, shape, or color), books (she loved a good Nora Roberts), babies (“the baby whisperer”), murder mysteries (Criminal Minds, NCIS), and finding a VW Bug first (“Punch buggie! No Punch Back!”).

Ellen may have been a tiny human, but she had a HUGE heart. She will be dearly missed by those who knew her best.

A special thanks to Ascension St. Elizabeth and Compassus Hospice for taking such good care of our mother in her time of need.
