Gerald "Jerry" Richard Williams

Gerald “Jerry” Richard Williams, 63, went on to his heavenly home on Monday, June 9 after a 3-month battle with cancer at Meadowbrook Nursing Home in Appleton, WI.

Jerry was born in Medford, WI on March 22, 1962 to Zayna (Hierlmeier) and Darrell Williams.

Jerry spend his first 10 mischievous years in Medford before the family moved to Neenah, WI.

Jerry graduated from Armstrong High School with the class of 1980 in Neenah, WI.

Jerry was a very kind man and loved helping people, Jerry worked in construction most of his life, with several different companies. It was on one of his jobs that he met and later married Leah (Gurgel) on April 28, 1991.

Jerry and Leah traveled to Vietnam in September 1999 and adopted a beautiful daughter, Marissa.

Jerry enjoyed and cherished spending most of his free time with Marissa, they enjoyed watching movies together, and going out to eat at some of their favorite restaurants, Pizza Ranch, Culvers, and out for Chinese. Jerry also enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and hanging in his garage working on his cars.

Jerry’s memory will be cherished and kept alive by Leah and Marissa of Menasha; his mother, Zayna Williams of Largo, Florida; Jerry’s siblings, Debbie (Bill) Knudsen, Blake (Patty) Williams, Roxane Miller, and Terry (Cindy) Williams; nieces and nephews, Michel Elmer, Lisa Kronberg, Ben Miller, and Kylie Miller.

Further survived by the Gugel family, Father-in-law, Don Gurgle; brother and sister in-laws, Brett and Marti Gurgel, Maddie and Aric Wilson, Missi and Ardy Esler, and Cliff and Heidi Swilimba; nieces and nephews, Katya and Christina Gurgle, Brennan Esler, Lexi, Quinton, and Myla Wilson, and Jayden, Travis, and Caleb Swilimba.

Also survived by his good friend Rob, extended family, and friends.

Jerry was preceded in death by his dad, Darrell, in May of 2019.

A private family funeral will be held at Bethel Evangelical Lutheran Church at a later date.

Jerry was one of a kind and marched to the beat of his own drum and is now at peace.
