James Stromske

July 5, 1947 — September 3, 2021

James “Jim” Stromske, 74, passed away at his home Friday, September 3, 2021 after a five year battle with cancer.

Jim was born on July 5, 1947. He was preceded in death by his brother Richard, father Norbert and mother June. He is survived by his loving wife, Kathleen, dedicated sons Matthew (Michelle) and Zachary (Marisa), and four grandchildren: Allison, Rowan, Weston, and Thalia.

Jim graduated from Oshkosh High in 1966 and served his country with deep conviction and patriotic dedication. He completed two tours in the Vietnam War from 1968 -1970. Upon his return, he started a career at Wisconsin Bell Telephone Company, as a lineman and then to finish as a System Tech. Jim retired in 2004 to enjoy family and hobbies he loved.

Jim was a lover of the outdoors. He was an avid golfer, hunter, trapper, and fisherman. When he wasn’t working on home improvement projects, one could find him outside enjoying those activities, which he later bestowed upon his two sons. He had a deep love for his family and a sharp sense of humor.

Jim and Kathy shared 50 years of blessed marriage. He was a committed son, husband, father, brother and friend to many.

Our family wishes to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the hospice staff at ThedaCare @Home for their dedicated care and expertise. We especially want to thank their outstanding staff, Jolene, Roberta and Tonya for their compassionate attention to his needs.

Jim's immediate family will prayerfully honor HIS LIFE, as he requested. A celebratory gathering will be scheduled at a later date.

We thank the professional and caring staffs from
