James Walter Reetz (Jim), 80, of Menasha, passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at Cherry Meadows. Jim was born February 15, 1937 to Carl and Ruth (Purdy) Reetz. Jim graduated from Appleton West High School in 1955. He joined the United States Army in 1956 until 1959 as a paramedic, spending his time in Germany. Jim was the owner and operator of his family’s business, Reetz’s Supper Club, for over 20 years. In 1985 he joined FedEx and retired in 1999. Jim was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed everything outdoors. Baseball was his sport of choice, playing, coaching and just watching the game. In his later years he enjoyed his daily visits to Jefferson Park with his fishing buddies. Jim will be greatly missed by his wife and the love of his life, Carla. He will also be sadly missed by his children, Charla Reetz, Tyler Reetz, Billi (Paul) Timm, Jamie (Mary) Jurgella, his grandchildren, Logan Reetz, Bailee Jo Timm, Brady Jurgella, Carley Rae Jurgella, a brother, Jerry (Rose) Reetz and many nieces and nephews. Jim was preceeded in death by his parents, Carl and Ruth, Siblings, Betty Lou, Ronald (Tip), Wayne and Gail. Jim was a special Papa to his grandchildren who were the pride of his life. A special thank you to the staff at Cherry Meadows for their love and compassion given to us during our time of need. We would also like to thank Mary and Lorraine, the Hospice care nurses. There will be no funeral service per Jim’s wishes.
