Janet M.
Buinowski
Nov 15, 1940 — Sep 29, 2026
Our hearts are broken as we say goodbye to a woman who meant so much to so many.
Janet M. Buinowski, 85, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, September 29, 2026. Jan was born on November 15, 1940 to Mabel and William Mikkonen. She was united in marriage to Tom Buinowski and they spent 64 wonderful years together.
Jan is survived by her daughter Vicki (special friend Scott) Wills, grandchildren; Tyler (Leslie) Wills, Austin Wills, and Lindsay (Austin) Ramcheck, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Grannie was one of the most loving, fun, and unforgettable people you could ever meet. She had a way of making life brighter simply by being in it. Her laugh, her personality, her hugs, her quick wit, and the love she gave so freely are memories we will carry with us forever.
Jan loved spending time with her family, hitting features at the casino, and taking numerous trips to Marshall’s to find the perfect cheetah print and bling outfits.
Grannies greatest love story was the life she shared with her beloved husband, Tom. They spent 64 years together building a life, raising a family, making memories and loving one another through all of life’s seasons.
Their love was the kind that people dream of—a love that lasted a lifetime. After Grandpa passed, a part of Grannies heart went with him.
Jan was a best friend, a source of comfort, a partner in laughter, and someone who made every family gathering more special.
All of our very favorite memories in life have Grannie in them, and those memories will become some of our greatest treasures.
She was especially excited for the newest chapter of the family and couldn’t wait to meet her first great-grandbaby. We will make sure she knows exactly how deeply her great grannie loved her before she was even born.
Grannies love will continue through her family, through the stories we tell, the traditions we carry on, the features & jackpots we hit at the casino and the laughter that will always remind us of her.
After 64 years of loving her husband, she has finally found her way back to him. Although we would give anything to have her here with us, we find peace in imagining them together again— just as they were always meant to be, together forever.
In keeping with her wishes she will be laid to rest in Ashland in a private family service next to her beloved husband Tom, son Scott, and son in law Rob.
