Jeanne Porto of Neenah/Appleton, while in the care of Care Partners of Kaukauna, left this life after living with dementia for the last few years, to be in her heavenly home and reunited with her mother and brother, on March 24th, 2025. The daughter of late Marie (Hergert) Dombrowski, Jeanne graduated from Neenah High in 1964. She was always a hard-working individual, having raised foster children alongside her and her husband's daughter, and also did things such as kept a homestead garden on their nearly 5 acres of land their house was situated on in Winneconne.
Jeanne went on to deliver The Appleton Post Crescent, an occupation she enjoyed for 41 years before retiring in 2018, having had an expansive route delivering to parts of Larsen, Winchester, Neenah, Stroebe Island in Neenah, and a neighborhood in Fox Crossing. Jeanne loved the chance to meet and get to know her customers along her routes, at one time delivering the Sunday newspaper to over 900 customers. Jeanne also raised one of her granddaughters from 6 weeks old till 18 years old. She loved music, particularly opera and classical music, which continued to grow alongside her granddaughter's love of playing the viola. She was also a good cook, especially falling in love with Italian cooking as she picked up from her mother-in-law, Ada Porto. Jeanne will be someone who is remembered, by many of those she's met, as a very graceful woman and has often been described as a neat lady. She had a love for the Lord and had been a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Neenah.
Jeanne is survived by daughter; Tracie Fritz, grandchildren; Ashley and Ryan Boelter, Desiri Porto, great grandchildren; Quinlan and Alivia Boelter, Jayden, and sister; Carol Hobart. She was preceded in death by her mother, Marie (Hergert) Dombrowski, and brother, David Dombrowski
Thanks goes out to the staff at Care Partners of Kaukauna, and the care team with St. Croix Hospice, especially Nurse Stephanie.
