Jeff Huettl, 49, of Hilbert, passed away on Friday, May 3, 2024, leaving behind a community richer for his inspiring and caring presence. Known for his booming voice, big heart, and even bigger personality, Jeff’s legacy is as vibrant as his sense of humor and the laughter he so easily brought to those in his life.

Born on April 17th, 1975, in Neenah, Jeff became a pillar of the community through his professional life and the passion and dedication he showed in every aspect of his endeavors. Above all, Jeff cherished his family. A devoted husband to Erica Huettl and father to Mikayla Huettl-Hall, Nathan Huettl, and Haydan Huettl, his dedication knew no bounds. He experienced profound joy in the everyday moments spent with his family and approached fatherhood with loving dedication.

Jeff’s impact extended far beyond the walls of his home. He had a lifelong passion for coaching, a task he approached with enthusiasm and a sprinkle of his signature humor. "He loved coaching and so many people have reached out and said things about how he helped them through tough times. He had a way of inspiring and making people believe in themselves," Erica said reflecting on his unwavering commitment to mentoring kids and young adults in sports. His ability to inspire belief in oneself has touched many, leaving a void in the hearts of his children and the many individuals who viewed him as a role model.

Aside from his family and coaching, Jeff had an illustrious love affair with craft beer. An avid collector and connoisseur, Jeff’s pursuit of the perfect brew was more than a hobby—it was a lifestyle. His knowledge of beer was only matched by his willingness to share it, often lighting up gatherings with his favorite new finds.

Jeff’s humor and wit are the stuff of local legend. Always ready with a quip, he never missed an opportunity to make light of life’s absurdities. His teasing was a sign of affection—whether teasing friends about their latest tech gadgets or spiritedly debating sports stats, Jeff did it all with a twinkle in his eye.

An acknowledged sports genius and politics enthusiast, Jeff brought insight and enthusiasm to discussions when dissecting the latest game or debating policy. His intellectual curiosity was infectious, enriching every conversation with depth and perspective.

Indeed, to some, Jeff’s unfiltered honesty was daunting, but those who knew him understood it as a facet of his profound integrity and authenticity. "Some people thought he was a major dick or an asshole, but I knew him as a caring individual," reflected a close friend. His honesty was a testament to the depth of his character and the sincerity of his interactions.

Jeff leaves behind a legacy of laughter, leadership, and love. As we mourn his passing, we also celebrate his life—a life lived with passion and purpose. His voice may have quieted, but his influence will resonate in the community for many years to come.

A celebration of Jeff’s life will be held on June 22nd, 2024, at The Outpost in Sherwood.

Rest easy, Jeff. You may have not been everyone's beer of choice, but for those who loved you, you were the finest brew. Your memory will be cherished and kept alive, not just in stories or mementos, but in the strength and courage you instilled in all of us.

We extend a special thank you to the first responders, police officers, and the community who showed immense compassion in our time of need.
