John Emery Dominowski, 66, of Appleton, WI, entered into eternal rest on November 13, 2025, following a courageous battle with health issues.
John was born on December 5, 1958, in Appleton, Wisconsin, to the late Ira Harrison and Dolores Ann (née Jenneman) Dominowski. John’s early life was one of exploration; he had the unique opportunity to live in and experience various locations with his family, including several years in Europe.
He proudly served his country for 15 years in the United States Air Force. While stationed in Michigan, he met his wife, Debbie (née Goltry), and they were married on November 09, 1979, beginning a devoted partnership that lasted 46 years.
Following his military service, John returned to Appleton and began a new chapter in his life. He pursued studies in Computer Science, a field in which he possessed a natural aptitude, and spent the remainder of his career working in computer-related technology.
John was a man of many talents. He found joy in baking, woodworking, and the detailed craft of creating leather bindings for classic literature. However, his favorite pastime remained computers; he acted as the family historian, meticulously maintaining and updating contact information for the entire extended family. Above all, he was a devoted father who prioritized wisdom and knowledge.
John is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Debbie; his children, Shannon (Karl) Kalista of Oregon, and Daniel (Cheyenne) of Pittsburgh, PA; and his siblings: Michael (Barbara) Dominowski of Staten Island, NY, Kathryn (Charles) Gillette of Appleton, WI, Ann Schalk of Appleton, WI, Libby (Robert) Wilson of Hesperia, CA, Paul (Sintayehu) Dominowski of Kalamazoo, MI, Dominic (Susan) Dominowski of Appleton, WI, and Ted (Cathy) Dominowski of Appleton, WI. He leaves behind numerous cherished cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ira H. and Dolores Dominowski; his sister, Amiee Clare Gille; and his brother, Ira Peter Dominowski.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors and nurses at Ascension Northeast Wisconsin St. Elizabeth Hospital for the compassionate care they provided to John in his final days.
A celebration of John’s life will be announced to the immediate family in the summer of 2026. He will be interred alongside his grandparents and parents at Highland Memorial Park in Appleton, WI.
