Appleton

Joseph (Joe) Heiser passed away on Friday, June 7, 2024. Joe was born July 17, 1949, to Albert and Edna Heiser of Green Bay, WI. He served in the US Air Force from 1967 to 1971, stationed at Aviano Air Force base in Italy. After his return to the United States, Joe married Linda (Moen) Heiser on October 2, 1971.

Joe held various roles in his life. He was an MP in the Air Force, a mechanic and manager, a counselor to troubled youth, and ran a cleaning business with his wife Linda. It was even rumored that he had a one-night performance as Elvis Presley. Joe was also instrumental in starting a local branch of Alcoholics Anonymous in Seymour, WI, where he lived at the time. Joe was proud of his sobriety of over 40 years, and his work and participation in AA helped many others. Joe was an avid collector of Coca Cola memorabilia who owned hundreds of pieces, some of them one-of-a-kind. He enjoyed traveling and took many memorable trips with his wife Linda and his sister- and brother-in-law Sherry and Ted Pappas. He shared his love of camping with his son Jayme, his interest in history with his grandson Jesse, and his enjoyment of movies and classic musicians like Frank Sinatra with his grandson Linus. He is survived by wife Linda, son Jayme Heiser (April Knights), grandsons Linus Heiser and Jesse Skinner; sister Diane (Ron) Buller and Alice (David) Dillenberg; brothers John (Linda) Heiser and Rocky (Sally) Heiser; Miller family cousins; and many extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Jim and Frank Heiser. A celebration of his life will be held on his birthday, July 17 at 326 W. Glendale in Appleton from noon to 4:00 pm.
