Lawrence (Babe) Malnor

Lawrence (Babe) Malnor, 94, died peacefully on June 30, 2026. Larry was born in Rapid River, MI on April 6, 1932 to Jeanette (Malnor nee Lallemand) Tumath and Matthew Malnor. After graduating from Rapid River High School in 1950, he served in the Air Forces until 1954. Larry married Irene Karasti on April 16, 1955. He worked for General Electric for 22 years where he treasured learning about new products, working with customers, and making sales. He himself loved finding a good deal. In 1986 Larry and Irene built their retirement home on the Cloverleaf Lakes, in Clintonville, WI, where they lived for 30 years until Irene's death. Larry spent the last 10 years of his life in Appleton. He was an avid Packer fan, attending games since 1964. He was a strong Frenchman.

Larry enjoyed hunting and fishing as well as cherished family and holiday gatherings. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Please say a prayer for him. Heaven gained an incredible and wonderful man who loved and was loved.

Larry is survived by his children, Larry (Martha) Malnor of Richmond, TX, Kirk (Maribeth) Malnor of Madison, WI, Kevin (Lisa) Malnor of Wausakee, WI and Kimberly (Rick) Karoses of Appleton, WI; nine grandchildren, Mike and Dave, Katie, Eddie and Ben, Emily and Eric, and Colton and Cody; and eight great grandchildren, Audrey, Ena, June, Bram, Gus, Kit, Margot, and Leon ; brother, Clifford (Maddie) Malnor of Marquette, MI and many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and siblings; Lucille Coon, Margaret Anderson and Robert Malnor.

The family would like to thank Silverstone, Dr. Rigstad and all who provided care and support during his final years.

A memorial gathering will be held at a later date.
