Leo J. Keuler, 91, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 22nd, surrounded by his family at Abridge Care Cottage in Chilton, Wisconsin.
Leo was born on December 22nd, 1932, in the town of Harrison to Florence (Mangan) Keuler and Nicholas A. Keuler. He attended Chilton High School, where he played football with his brother Len.
Leo proudly served his country during the Korean War. He worked as a typesetter for the Chilton Times Journal and the Manitowoc Herald Times before becoming a U.S. Postal Worker, where he received recognition from President Ronald Reagan for his service.
On May 5th, 1958, Leo married Janice E. Jobelius. He loved his family dearly and enjoyed trying new recipes, jigsaw puzzles, bird watching, fishing, and hunting squirrels. Leo was known for his quick wit and friendly personality. He loved sitting on his front porch and enjoyed the company of those who stopped by to visit. He always lent a hand to anyone in need.
Leo is survived by his wife Janice; his children Timothy (Terry) Keuler, Nicholas (Gerald Hibbs) Keuler, Daniel (Lorie) Keuler, and Kathleen (Wayne) Meyers; his grandchildren Danielle Keuler, Andrea Meyers, Whitney McDowell, Ryan Tembelis, Bree Keuler, and Seth Keuler; and his great-grandchildren Kalyssa Tembelis, Elias McDowell, Aurora McDowell, and Theo McDowell. He is also survived by his brother Jerome (Darleen) Keuler and his sister Jeanette Boll.
He was preceded in death by his parents Nicholas and Florence Keuler, and his brother Leonard N. Keuler.
Leo will be laid to rest at a private ceremony at Saint Mary's Cemetery in Chilton, Wisconsin.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Abridge Care Cottage and to Calumet County Hospice, who quickly became family to him, for their compassionate care.
Leo's warmth, kindness, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
