After a lifetime of laughter, stubbornness, and a whole lot of putzing, Linda Lopas passed away on November 23rd, surrounded by the family and friends she loved so deeply. She left this world with the same dry humor, grit, and warmth she carried every day of her life.
Linda found joy in simple moments. Ask what she was doing, and you’d almost always hear, “I’m just putzing.” Through that, she built a home filled with comfort, laughter, and love. She enjoyed playing Words With Friends and joining her family in Roblox games, filling every day with joy.
She married the love of her life, David Lopas, and kept his memory close after his passing in 2014. Now they are together again.
She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, her brothers Hank Wachtendonck and Mike Lom, brother-in-law Phil Wagner, her husband David, and David’s brothers Bob, Don, and Tom, along with their spouses.
She is survived by her children: Tamie Lopas and her children Landon and Lyndivity; Jenny (Matt) Brans and their children Cole (fiancée Mel Rose) and Carson; Scott (Tiffany) Lopas and their children Trinity and Trevor; and her beloved Pomeranian, Bear. She is also survived by her siblings Dale Schuck, Danny (Becca) Schuck, Donna (Tom) Cummings, Robin Wagner, Hank’s wife Pat (Jim Peerenboom), her sister-in-law Donna from David’s side; and her nieces and nephews.
Linda was fiercely loyal, delightfully stubborn, and full of perfectly timed dry humor. She loved her lifelong friends, a good Old Fashioned, and every laugh-filled moment with her family and friends.
She will be deeply missed, but her spirit and love will live on in all who knew her.
Celebration of life details will be shared with family and friends.
