Lynette (Warner) Caldwell (77) of Mansfield, OH, passed away on July 29, 2024 at Thedacare Hospital in Appleton, WI. Born on March 31, 1947 in Milwaukee, WI, she was the daughter of Stanley and Guinevere (Moe) Warner.
Throughout her childhood, Lynette enjoyed ice skating, attending Milwaukee Braves games, and playing baseball with the boys. After finishing college at Aurora University, Lynette married John Caldwell in 1970 and together they lived an extraordinary life, raising five children and providing a caring home for over 15 years to many foster care infants and toddlers. Lynette liked to travel and embark on new adventures, ministering in California with Campus Crusade for Christ (CRU), traveling to Europe to connect with family, or ministering in the early days at Grace Haven Farm. In addition, Lynette loved her Wisconsin heritage and would enjoy summers at the family cottage on Lake Lucerne in Crandon, Wisconsin, every year.
Lynette truly loved two things, her family and ministering to those in need with the love of Jesus Christ. She gave up much of her life to pour into her children, loving and supporting each of them on their individual journey. She protected them with her love and launched them with her adventure for life.
She displayed an amazing heart that was full of grace and love as she poured out countless hours of listening and encouragement to friends and loved ones who needed a friend as well as spending countless hours caring for babies and toddlers in the foster-care system. She was able to do this because she walked with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave her the strength she needed each day.
Lynette is survived by her loving husband, John, her five children: Laura Louise Caldwell Byrom and son-in-law Eric Byrom of Mansfield, OH, with Ethan, Talia and Travis; Jonathan Mark Caldwell and daughter-in-law Jodi [Weesner] Caldwell of Byron Center, MI, with Evan, Olivia and Daxton; Timothy Joel Caldwell and daughter-in-law Kristyn [Bollig] Caldwell of Spokane, WA, Luke Ingalls Caldwell and daughter-in-law Laura [Straley] Caldwell of South Bend, IN, with Alyson, Kate, Jaron, Josiah and Callan; and Seth Matthew Caldwell and daughter-in-law Beth [Warblow] Caldwell of Philadelphia, PA with Troy, Kyrie and Dakari.
Lynette is also survived by her sister Jacqueline (Warner) Tanner and brother-in-law Jim Tanner of Madison, WI, along with sister-in-law Nancy Warner of Hollywood, FL.
A memorial service is planned on October 5 at Grace Fellowship Church in Mansfield, OH.
