Mary Elizabeth “Maribeth” Matuszak
October 10, 1945 – October 5, 2025
Mary Elizabeth Matuszak, lovingly known as Maribeth, age 79, passed away peacefully on October 5, 2025, at Theda Clark in Neenah, Wisconsin. She was born on October 10, 1945, in Green Bay, Wisconsin, to Lawrence and Elaine Matuszak.
Maribeth was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Elaine Matuszak, and her brother, Vilas Matuszak. She is survived by her nephew, Micah Matuszak of Savannah, Georgia; her foster nephew, Dennis Hagen of Green Bay; and her extended family and beloved neighbors of 16 years — Stacy, Trisha, Lily, and Charlie — who became like family to her. She cherished their weekly dinners, holidays, children’s baseball games and concerts, and many evenings spent playing games, building puzzles, watching movies, going to car shows, and enjoying ice cream at Charlie’s Drive-In in Hortonville.
Maribeth enjoyed simple pleasures — tending her yard, burning wood in her fire pit, splitting and stacking logs, and mowing the lawn. She loved her Friday fish fries and occasionally, a couple of beers. She was a proud retiree of Presto, where she was employed for 37 years (from May 8, 1972, to December 17, 2009). A dedicated and dependable worker, Maribeth was known for her strong work ethic — even parking her car at the end of the driveway before snowstorms to ensure she could make it to work. She formed many lifelong friendships during her years at Presto and will be fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of working with her.
Maribeth was an active member of St. Edward’s Church, where she was deeply involved in her church family. She often spent time with the elderly who were sick or homebound — a true blessing to everyone who knew her.
She also loved spending time with her “Presto group” of retirees and friends at luncheons and gatherings. Her kindness, humor, and generous spirit will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched.
Services will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025, at St. Edward Church in Mackville, Wisconsin. Visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by Mass at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow the service.
A special thank-you to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Theda Clark Hospital in Neenah for their excellent care and compassion.
Maribeth will be remembered for her warmth, humor, and love of life — a woman who worked hard, cared deeply, and found joy in the simple things.
