Marilyn Lou Sweeney Elmore Rose

Marilyn Lou (Sweeney; Elmore) Rose, 88, of Clendenin WV, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 9th, 2026, at St. Paul Elder Services in Kaukauna Wisconsin, surrounded by her loving family.

Marilyn was the daughter of the late John Holly Sweeney and Ruby (Walker) Sweeney. She was also preceded in death by her husband Clair A. (Mousey) Elmore, her 2nd husband Darrell C. Rose, son, Kenneth L. Elmore, brothers, Melvin, John Holly Jr., and Marion Sweeney.

Marilyn is survived by her son, Franklin A. Elmore and wife Susan, grandchildren, Darrell A. Elmore and wife Ashley, Corrie A. (Elmore) Kaufman and husband Shawn, Casie M. (Elmore) Braatz and husband Nathanael, Megan B. (Elmore) Hustead and husband Trevor, Billi Madison (Elmore) Watkins and husband David, and Kelly Mackenzie (Elmore) Bochman and husband Steven, great grandchildren, Hailey, Andie, Jenna, Abigail, Hunter, Weston, Aubree, Blake, and Remi, and her sisters Joy Holburt, Annette Paxton Lane, and Sue LeMaster and husband Owen.

She was devoted to so many people. Her loss is deeply felt by the many others who looked at her as a second mother, grandmother, and nurturing presence in their lives. With the most special attention to Frank Shafer and wife Laura, Lacon Shafer, and Miranda (Shafer) King and husband John.

In accordance with Marilyn’s wishes, she will be cremated and a celebration of life will be held in West Virginia at a later date. She will be buried alongside her husband Clair at Statts Cemetery, Clendenin, WV.
