Marlyn Ann Begholz, Age 88, died on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 in Appleton, Wisconsin. Marlyn was born on May 16, 1937, daughter of the late John and Eleanor (Gross) Ausloos. She spent her childhood in St. Anna and Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. After graduating from New Holstein High School in 1955, she spent time in Madison before settling in Appleton. She married Nathan Bergholz on October 5, 1957, at St. Jospeh’s Church in Appleton. Marlyn was employed at Kimberly Clark prior to having children. As a mother, she continued to work as a waitress before getting her real estate license. Her later employment years were spent doing insurance work. Marlyn was a longtime member of St. Pius X Church. She loved to play cards; especially sheepshead and Skip-bo. She was also an avid bowler. Marlyn is survived by four children, Todd Bergholz and his friend Leah; Faye Bergholz and her friend Brian; Bonnie (Brian) Atkinson; Becky Goland and her friend Kyle; six grandchildren, Dustin Bergholz and his friend Trudy, Maxwell, Nathaniel, Isabella, and Lily Atkinson, and Tanner (his fiancée Jordan) and Lakin Goland; two great-granddaughters Brie Bergholz and Rosemary Sierra. Marlyn is further survived by one brother, Glenroy (Karen) Ausloos, a sister-in-law, Suzanne Bergholz and a brother-in-law, Fred Copes. She is further survived by nieces and nephews. Marlyn was preceded in death by her husband Nathan and her son Jay Bergholz; her parents, John & Eleanor Ausloos; her in-laws Joseph and Minnie Bergholz; three sisters, Delores (Harry) Gehrig, Gladys (Bob) Feuling, and Jan Copes; two brothers, Leonard (Norma) Ausloos and Orville (Marilyn) Ausloos; a sister-in-law Verla (Henry) Liebzeit; and one grandchild, Maria Atkinson and special friend Reggie Ahrens.
A service will be held at 11:30 am, on Tuesday, June 24, 2024, at St. Pius X Church, 500 W Marquette Street, Appleton, with Father James Jugenheimer officiating. Friends will be received at the church on Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be held at Highland Memorial Park at a later date.
