Mary Gale (Schomer) Girardi passed away peacefully in Appleton, WI, on December 13, 2025.
Mary was born in Neenah, WI, on March 1, 1942, to Clarence Schomer and Jeanette Rose Wuellner. As a young girl, Mary loved riding her horse, Silver, and quickly found a deep joy in reading, like her mother. She spent much of her life in Waunakee, WI, with her adoring husband, Rudy Girardi.
Mary and Rudy were proud, active members of the Waunakee community, where they fostered many lifelong friendships. They also enjoyed their times spent driving along the Mississippi River or walking Buster around the block. Mary was a talented maker of handmade cards. She spent many happy hours attending crafting classes and cherished her circle of friends in the paper-crafting community. She was consistently thoughtful in her words and actions, bringing light to everyone around her.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Rudy. She will be greatly missed by her family, including her three children: Gary (Jan) Londre, Sara Londre and Marty Londre; Rudy’s children: Michael (Anna) Girardi, Marie-Claire (John) McInerney, and Theresa Girardi; her ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; her sister, Diane (Don) Johnson; and her brother, Larry Schomer. One of her greatest joys was watching the youngest members of the family grow and hearing stories of their adventures.
Mary appreciated the beauty of simplicity and, per her request, no formal services will be held at this time. The family asks that she be remembered in life’s small moments and honored by cherishing fond memories of time spent together.
