Marybel Rita Golesh passed away on August 28, 2023 at the age of 85. She was a strong, loving, fierce woman who never had anything handed to her in life. Born in Saginaw, MN to Ervie and Ethel Daniels, she is preceded in death by her husband Don, her parents, five brothers and one sister. She worked hard without complaint to provide and survive, went hungry so her younger siblings could eat, sold rings to buy her daughter a winter coat, sewed costumes by hand so her kids could trick or treat or star in a play, labored over family meals and tried to always do the right thing, even when it was the hardest thing.
During her life she loved bowling with her league of dear friends, making jam that warmed stomachs and hearts and the world’s best potato salad, tending her flowers and walking her dog Gigi every day, whether in heat or bitter cold. She took pride in all she could independently do until her body would no longer allow. She loved books, music, gardening, crocheting, the card game Golf and, most of all, her family. She is survived by her daughter Lori and her husband Gary, her son Mike and his wife Amy, her son Brian and his wife Karen, her daughter Jolene and her partner Cory, seven grandchildren (her “kiddies”), two sisters and her dog Gigi. She loved us all unconditionally, wholeheartedly and without judgment.
Thank you to the staff at The Residence at Oshkosh and ThedaCare Hospice for giving Marybel your loving care. Marybel did not want a funeral service but asked that her ashes be scattered in Duluth, MN, where she was once very happy.
She will be achingly, excruciatingly missed and life will not be the same without her. The good news is she is not sharing in any of our pain. We are the ones that miss her but since there is no time in heaven, she doesn't miss us. Relative to her, we will follow right behind. Unfortunately, we have to continue on, day by day, enduring the heartache.
We have to make the best of things and look forward to some joy coming our way to help offset the pain - until we meet again. We take comfort knowing she is now wearing the crown of life and will see her beloved Mama again after 72 years.
