Maynard Carlton Schucknecht

Maynard Carlton Schucknecht, age 83 of Menasha, passed away on Saturday September 5, 2026. 

Maynard was born on January 7, 1943, in Black Creek to the Late Clarence and Gertrude (Bahr) Schucknecht. Maynard loved scratching off lottery tickets, hoping to win big and he got lucky many times and won his money back. One time he even won $1000 on a ticket and asked his niece Judy to drive him to Madison to collect his winnings, because he thought if it was mailed in, they would never give him, the money he was owed, which that trip was a big one for him, because he didn't like to be away from home, because he might miss one of his shows that he watched every day. He also loved going to stay out at the Jenner john's property in Hortonville, because they would play Sheephead, and he could win money there also, because they played for dollars. That was a highlight for his summers, he really looked forward to staying there for a month at a time, several times during the summer. When he was younger years he worked several jobs, Midcon in Hortonville, and Romenesko and Jennerjohn Auctions, and he did Painting and Roofing for many people also.

But as some of you may know, Maynard was having some back pains for some time, and finally the pain was enough that he asked his niece Judy to take him to the hospital, and that is when he found out he had Lung Cancer and It was stage 4, and He decided to go on hospice and with the help of the amazing team at Edenbrook of Appleton for helping with the pain and also giving him quarters in the beginning to help him scratch his lotto tickets, until he was not able to anymore, The staff did amazing job!!

Maynard leaves behind many nieces and nephews and many friends that have been like family to him The whole H.J .Jennerjohn Family, Larry (Patty) Larry Jr. Michelle, Jeremy, Jesse (late) Mark, Chris, Joe, Laurie, Barry, and neighbor Tammy who have been there for Maynard thru many years, Also his long time friend Greg Willing, and Mike Prokash.

In addition to his Parents, Maynard was preceded in death by his four brothers, Vernon, Laverne, Melvin, and Marvin, an infant sister.
