On Thursday, September 19th, 2024, Nancy Sue Thiele (Engel) a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother passed away at the age of 67 after a short battle with brain cancer. She was a fighter as she beat bone cancer 6 years prior. Nancy was born to Eleanor (Werch) and Harold Engel in Oshkosh, WI. She graduated from Oshkosh North High School. In her youth Nancy played in softball and pool leagues. She went into the grocery business where she met her husband Richard D Thiele, “Dick”. They continued to work together most of their careers. They married July 21, 1984; this summer they celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary surrounded by family.

In 1987 their daughter Amanda Patricia Vestergaard (Thiele) was born in Appleton, WI. Then they moved to Rapid City where their son Thomas John Thiele, “TJ” was born. They found their permanent residents in Waupaca where both Nancy and Dick continued their careers as managers for Ron n’ Lloyd's/Pick n’ Save.

Throughout her life Nancy enjoyed bowling league and playing golf with her husband. She was an animal lover and enjoyed caring for her pets over the years. Nancy was known as a pizza fanatic and a devoted Packer fan! She made many friends over the years from socializing at her favorite establishments. Nancy is known for her attitude, feistiness, and spunk! We can all hear her calling someone a “hosebag” or to "shut the front door.”
