PHILLIP ROY DOUCETTE

1938 – 2023

Phil passed away on Monday March 27th, 2023, with his loving family by his side.

He was born on November 8th, 1935, in Washburn Wisconsin to William and Hattie (Kautzer) Doucette.

Phil graduated from Washburn High School in 1953. After graduation, he joined the National Guard for 8 years and he also worked for Reese’s Coal Company, where he had a trucking route from Washburn, WI to many different places that he stopped along the way. He also drove the hearse for Bratley Funeral Home in Washburn.

In 1956, he moved to Menasha, WI and met the love of his life Joan Krablean. They were married in 1960 and had 3 wonderful children. Debra (Steve) Roznowski, Daniel (Kelly) Doucette, and Dawn Paterson. During this time and up until retirement, he worked for Remick Transfer in Menasha

Phil was full of life. Everything that he did, he did with such passion. He was a Square Dance Caller for 35 years and was inducted into the Square Dance Callers Hall of Fame in 2008. He also worked security for the Green Bay Packers which he was so proud of that he could work alongside his son Dan. He also did security for the Resch Center, where he met many stars and performers.

When Phil walked into a room, everyone automatically had a smile on their face and a glimmer in their eyes because every person knew that they were going to hear the wonderful stories and the endless jokes that he would tell.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his mother and father-in-law, his brother Jerry, his sisters Geneva, Lois, Lorraine, June, Dorothy, Jeanette, and his twin sister Phyllis. He is also preceded in death by his son Dan who was his pride and joy.

He is survived by his loving wife and soulmate Joan, his daughters Debra and Dawn, his brother-in-law Raymond Zanto (who was his best friend since they were 5), his sister-in-law Charleen Zanto, 9 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren. And many nephews and nieces.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday April 5th, 2023, at:

Peace Lutheran Church 1228 S. Park Avenue Neenah, WI at 11:00 am

Visitation is from 9:30am until the time of service.

There are no words that can express how much he will be missed. He had a heart of gold and would help anyone who needed it. His love of life and the love of everyone he knew was overwhelming.

The family would like to thank the doctor’s, nurses, and staff at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital.
