Raymond C. Bonnin

Raymond Charles Bonnin, age 92, left this world peacefully to be with his precious Lord on June 17, 2024. He was born on a small farm on April 16, 1932, in the town of Liberty, Wisconsin. He was the son of the late Glenna Pearl (Brigham) and August Charles Bonnin.

Ray proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. In 1955, he was united in marriage with the love of his life, LaVerne Clausen, and was devoted to her, their children, and their grandchildren his entire life.

Ray began every day with prayer and Bible devotion. He found joy in being selflessly available whenever his children or grandchildren needed him: car rides, driving lessons, remodeling, plumbing, doctor visits, and dealing with flooded basements. Ray was always on call with a smile.

He served his Lord and his church happily and tirelessly. He mowed the church lawn for decades, ushered, served on the church board, and cooked in the July heat at Wisconsin UPCI Family Camp for 13 years. He drove from one end of Appleton to the other, picking up church members who needed a ride, and was always ready to fill any need that arose.

Ray loved the Northwoods of Wisconsin and fishing. He created timeless memories with friends and family while fishing in his boat. He knew every good fishing spot in Northeast Wisconsin and was always in high spirits loading up his boat for one more adventure on the water.

Raymond is survived by his wife, LaVerne, of 69 years, his children: Ronald, Terry and his wife Lynn, Ann and her husband Terry; and his grandchildren: Anthony, Andrea and her husband Lance, Erin, Ryan, Terry, Ashley and her husband Michael, and Kayley. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, along with many special friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Norman and his wife Delores (Gracyalny), and his sister Francis and her husband Wesley Thomack.
