Town of Menasha/Fox Crossing – Richard R Nelson (Dick), 89, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday October, 26 2023. He was born on July 8th, 1934 in Neenah WI., the son of Adolph A and Emma (Rom) Nelson. He was born and raised on 3rd Street in Neenah and Graduated from St Mary’s Catholic High School. Dick served in the Army for 2 Years. He worked at American Can ( Georgia Pacific, Phillip Morris, and eventually James River) Menasha and retired from the Company in 1997. Dick Married the love of his life Carol A (VanDen Boogart) on November 24th 1956 and celebrated 66 wonderful years together.

Dick enjoyed Hunting and Fishing with the his boys. He was an avid Packer, Bucks and Brewers Fan. He enjoyed traveling with the Family around the state, and going to their cottage in Wild Rose. Dick enjoyed a good Conversation with anyone he met. His stories were enjoyed by many and always entertaining.

Dick is survived by his loving Wife Carol , Sons: Rick, Bucket (Laura), and Daughter: Roxane Bruehl. Grandsons: Nicholas Bruehl and Bo Nelson. Sister in laws; Punky (Johnny) Gerhardt, Judy Faubel, And Barb (Andy) Zielinski. Along with special Nephew; Andy (Dawn) Martin and many other Nieces and Nephews

He was preceded in death by his Parents; Adolph and Emma ,Father in Law Larry VanDen Boogart and special friend Evie along with Sisters; Mona (Tom) Martin, Beth (Manley) Howe, and Roberta(Chet) Waldoch.

A Private family memorial service will be held per his request.
