Richard (Rick) Lee Janssen

Age 73, passed away peacefully after a short illness into the loving arms of Jesus surrounded by his large family on Monday, January 5, 2026 at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center of Appleton, WI. Rick was born on March 10, 1952 to Edgar E and Darlene A (Curtis) Janssen.

Rick had a variety of different jobs over the years that helped form his unique character. He retired as a dispatcher for Yellow Cab Company. Ricks many pleasures was riding motorcycles, listening to oldies, watching football, playing cards and spending time with family and friends. Rick had a heart for helping the residents at John Fischer Manor, where he made many friends. He was a member and attended Valley Baptist Church of Appleton.

He is survived by his children, Ricky (Crystal) Janssen of Oshkosh WI, Samuel (Courtney) Janssen of Augusta GA, Ben (Kimberly) Lee of Greenville, WI and Phillip Lee. He is further survived by his siblings, Kathie (Tim) Steward of Appleton WI, Randy (Marcia) Janssen of Neenah WI, Wally (Carrie) Janssen of Sumrall MS, Robert (Janet) Janssen of Appleton WI, John Janssen of Wisconsin Rapids WI and Laura Janssen of Appleton WI. He is also survived by numerous Grandchildren, an Aunt, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, cousins and friends.

The family would like to thank the nurses, doctors and hospice staff of ThedaCare Medical Center for their compassion and kindness during this very difficult time.

Visitation is Thursday, January 8, 2026 from 3:00 pm to time of service at 5:00 pm at VALLEY BAPTIST CHURCH, 3600 N Chippewa St Appleton WI 54911 followed by a meal.
