Robert Charles Wetzel, born April 26, 1943, passed away on Saturday, September 24 after a courageous battle with a rare form of cancer surrounded by his family. Bob was born in New London and resided in Appleton, Wisconsin.
He was proceeded in death by his parents Carl and Edna (Reisenweber) Wetzel, his sister Rosalie Culpepper, (Ed). Bob was survived by his loving wife Eila, (Nousiainen) Wetzel, his children Wendy Wetzel Carter, (Rick), Stacy Wetzel, Nina Nousiainen-Hegner, (David), Mia Nousiainen-Wrage, (Todd), Minna Nousiainen-Becher, (Chris). His loving grandchildren, Mariah Green (Chris), Ryan Carter, Courtney Becher, Eeva Nousiainen, Toivo Radloff, Melodi- Nousiainen- Becher, Mason Wrage, Bob's niece Trudi Askew (Jim), his ex-wife Barbara K. Wetzel-Huss (Jim), and cousins and friends.
Bob worked at Albany International for 45 years, and traveled around the world for his position. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and was an avid Green Bay Packer and Alabama football fan. Bob had a great sense of humor, enjoyed entertaining, and loved to vacation in California and Canada with his wife Eila.
Per Bob's wishes memorial service will be held by close family.
