Mrs. Ruth Ruppel, 95, of Appleton, died Tuesday morning, March 13, 2018, after a brief stay at Thedacare Regional Medical Center.
The former Ruth Schanglies was born July 4, 1922 in Sheboygan, the daughter of William Schanglies and Edna Helms Schanglies. She is preceded in passing by her parents William and Edna, sister Marguerite Buri, brother Jackson Schanglies, daughter Kay Soucheck, grandson Patrick Soucheck, and great-granddaughter Jada Long.
Survivors are daughter: Wendy L. (Randy) Genaw; son: Kevin J. (Sue Ellen Burns) Ruppel; grandchildren: Christopher (Melissa) Soucheck, Elizabeth "Libby" (Fabiola Gutierrez Orozco) Soucheck, John Long, and Matthew (Joy) Long. Her great-grand-children are Sasha Soucheck, Toby Soucheck, Madeline Paladino, and Mathew Long Jr. Ruth is also survived by a special nephew: Frederick "Jack" (Carrie) Buri, as well as other nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. In addition, Kay's former husband Jack and his wife Penny have remained dear family friends over the years.
Ruth requested a private gathering of close family and friends to observe her passing.
She loved being with them all and enjoyed reading, crocheting, knitting, and movies. She was an avid Green Bay Packers fan as well. She was kind and loving to all she encountered. Ruth passed her best life lessons on to everyone she met. She was a sweet soul that will be deeply missed but who is now in a place free of strife.
