Stephen Burbey

Steve Burbey, 76, passed away on February 24, 2025 following a long battle with cancer. 

After growing up in Chilton, he served 3 years in the Marine Corps, including a tour in Vietnam. His next journey was as a member of the Operating Engineers Local 139 where he was a Crane Operator and retired in 2006. He recently received awards as a 50-year member of the Local 139 Union. 

He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Jo; Two sons, Ryan (Sue) Burbey, Josh (Malorie Marquez); Two step sons – Ed Wenberg (Stephanie) and Mike Wenberg (Nicole Waltemath); Four granddaughters Tessa, Leighton, Breanna and Samantha; One brother Paul (Julie) Burbey – Manitowoc, WI; One sister Robin (Rick) Martinek – Prior Lake, MN, nieces, nephews and cousins. 

With Love and Respect and honoring Steve’s wishes, there will be no visitation, no celebration of life and no funeral as he has been cremated.
