Steven Lee Eccles, 68, of Neenah, Wisconsin, passed away on July 13, 2024, surrounded by his family.
Steven was born to Kenneth and Edna Eccles, on October 31, 1955, in Biloxi, Mississippi. He served in the United States Navy and received a National Defense Service Medal. After his military service, he worked as an electrician and carpenter in the private and commercial construction industry. He and Lori were married in 1976 and shared many wonderful adventures during their forty-eight years together.
Steve had an insatiable love for life. He was a talented athlete, horseback rider and trainer, dancer, woodworker, hunter, fisherman, and grill master, as well as a loyal Chicago Bears fan. He was big-hearted, easy-going, and always the life of the party. His warm eyes and smile instantly lit up the room and his rowdy laugh was contagious. Even in the end, he still found a way to make everyone smile by promising to haunt us for the rest of our days. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who loved his family above all. His door was always open, and his unconditional support and reassuring presence made us stronger in the face of life's challenges. He will forever be missed.
Steve’s loving spirit is carried on by his wife, Lori; their children, Michelle, Adam, Erik, Liz, and Dawn; his sister Becky; his grandchildren Dylan, Carter, Anthony, Marion, Gabe, Andrew, Lily, and Chris; along with his niece Cassie, nephew Kenny, and great niece Kylie. Preceding him in peace were his parents, Kenneth and Edna, and his brother Glenn.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. We have been so grateful for the outpouring of love and support. If so moved, we’d love for you to share your favorite memories of Steve with us.
