Theresa “Terry” (nee Vose) Doede passed away peacefully at the age of 83, after valiantly fighting cancer for years.
She is survived by the love of her life; her husband, Marty; sisters Nancy and Loretta; stepson Mark, his wife Patty and their children Michelle and Cheryl.
Preceded in death by her parents Al and Dorathy, as well as other beloved family and friends.
Theresa was a fighter from the start. She was born in Illinois a “Blue Baby” due to a heart condition. Her condition did not stop her from accomplishing her goals or working with her parents and siblings at their businesses in Eagle River, Wisconsin.
Terry had a true zest for life and adventure. During her time in the Army, she attained the rank of Captain. She lived all over the world; including Texas, Florida, Illinois, Wisconsin, Japan, Germany and Jamaica just to name some of the places she called home. She lived with her sister Loretta and family in Illinois during a hiatus from her college studies.
Theresa earned her Bachelor's and Master's degrees at UW- Whitewater and Eau Claire. She was extremely proud of being a teacher, like her sister Nancy. Theresa cared for and loved her students.
She and Marty lived many places together, including in a motorhome and on a boat. She so enjoyed being on the water and fishing, just like her nephews Bobby, Danny and Carl. There were many memorable fishing trips taken with family and friends over the years.
Terry knew no strangers, had a great sense of humor and loved to have fun. She passed those traits onto her nieces Debbie, Cheryl and Julie, her Goddaughter.
Terry was very driven and passionate about so many things. There are a number of words to describe Theresa; faith filled, family oriented, fun loving, hardworking, hopeful, loving, friend helping, hard driving and a warrior.
She took pleasure in a plethora of things and activities: Stuffed animals (her whole life), frogs, walking, shopping, lesson planning, animals, music, dancing, nature, doing hair, baking brownies, sweets, a good meal, decorating, traveling, fishing and her beloved Packers!
Theresa enjoyed her visits from family, hubby, sisters, stepfamily, nephews, nieces and friends. She delighted us all with her knack for storytelling and so many laughs. Terry kept her sense of humor until the very end.
A very special person in Terry’s life was her niece, Cheryl. Theresa and Marty’s lives were immensely better due to Cheryl’s selfless care for them both over the years. All of us that loved Theresa will forever be grateful for all that Cheryl did for her and Marty.
Theresa Marie (Vose) Doede will be missed dearly by us all. Our warrior is gone from this earth but lives on forever in our hearts. She would want us to live our lives to the fullest, follow our passions and have F U N !! We will do our best to follow your lead,Theresa.
Thanks for all the wonderful memories!
