Tootie Skibba, 75, of Neenah, Wisconsin, went to heaven peacefully on November 4, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Appleton, Wisconsin, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister whose life was defined by her deep faith, her unwavering love for her family, and her vibrant, giving spirit.
In her younger years, she loved spending time with her cousins at the cottage and waterskiing on Mayflower Lake. Following her marriage to Tom, the couple shared a passion for dancing in their early years, something Tootie happily carried onto the dance floor at every wedding of her family and close friends. Together, they raised their daughters and built beautiful memories spending time at the cottage while the girls were growing up. During those years raising her family in Menasha, she loved sitting on the neighbor's front porch, sharing laughs and conversation. She cherished watching her daughters compete in gymnastics and later cheered and whistled just as loudly at her grandchildren’s sporting and school events.
Tootie’s home was a reflection of her vibrant spirit, which she lovingly decorated for every changing season and holiday. Her door was always open to anyone, especially over the holidays, when she took great joy in making special meals for her family and friends at Thanksgiving and Christmas. Especially making sure the mashed potatoes weren’t lumpy. This same love for personal connection carried over into her career; she spent over 20 years as a dedicated credit union bank teller. She truly enjoyed her daily interactions with the members. An avid crafter, she expressed her creativity through sewing and loved spending her days thrifting with her granddaughter and close friends. Her community was incredibly important to her; she stayed active with Zumba at the YMCA, generously volunteered her time at St. Patrick's, and looked forward to monthly outings with her beloved 1969 high school girlfriends, as well as occasional get-togethers with her cousins.
Above all, Tootie was known for her immense warmth and generosity of spirit, always ready to give a comforting hug to anyone who wanted or needed one. A passionate sports fan, she spent many weekends cheering on the Green Bay Packers. She also spent many wonderful years traveling for Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) auto racing events, treasuring the meaningful friendships she and Tom gained within the racing community.
Tootie will be sadly missed by her loving husband of 56 years, Tom Skibba, and their children, Cheri Beede (fiancé Mike Wilcox) and Amy (Dave) Wittig. She was a proud grandmother of Kaitlyn, Evan, Lexy, Kali, Zach, and Lindsay. She is further survived by her brother, David (Bec) Hildeman; nephews, Matthew Hildeman and Joey Gruetzmacher; and niece, Desi Kronberg. Many other relatives and dear friends survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy Hildeman and Norm Zielinski; stepmother, Claire Zielinski; stepfather, Don Hildeman; father- and mother-in-law, Sigmund and Regina Skibba; sisters, Diane Zielinski and Lynn Kronberg; and nephew, Alex Weinmann.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 12, 2026, at St. Patrick’s Parish (324 Nicolet Blvd, Menasha, WI 54952) from 9:30 AM until the Mass of Resurrection at 11:00 AM, with a luncheon to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tootie's memory to the American Lung Association.
